A place called Travel Cafe :)

Life is curious sometimes. Today's experience left me wondering how I fell into that amazing place , which I know, I can call MyPlace.

Weekend it was, and after having wasted 3-4 weekends doing nothing at all, I was sure I am gonna make it this time. After a late night friday movie and rain bash adventure afterwards, when I woke up in the morning, it was still raining.. This made the weather breezy and cool which is perfect for visiting monuments. I, with a friend of mine, planned for Hauzkhas fort. I had heard a lot about that, plus I had a curiousity always that I want to cover all the monuments out there. So hauzkhas it was. But, I was sure that I wont go in hauzkhas village for sure, I had been there and it was a bad experience. Don't know why, but the much hyped village seemed to be nothing more than some arabic galliyan ,which was the only thing I liked. Or may be it was a bad day that we landed into all the wrong restaurants.

Today was different. When we reached there , we both felt we needed to fill our stomachs before we head ourselves towards the fort. So we went into arabian galliyan for rolls. We find one on road and ordered two for us. Right in front of us, while waiting for our rolls, was this travel cafe. The name dint attract us, but it was the cute teenager who was sitting there, painting something, which we guessed. We played games of guessing that he might be a college student and an artist, who is here sitting in a cafe and painting, enjoying his time alone. I was feeling so good looking at him, different from the crowd he was and was doing something that interests him, lost in his work. How happy he was and me too, as I like it when people do what they truly love. Rolls made us wait too much, I started looking here and there. That cafe was transparent and I could easily see it inside out. Posters were there which said “We travel, what do you do?” , then there were so many books and posters inside. One read, “Read whatever you like, pay what you like”. I was interested by now to go inside and see what it was. So we went inside and at first, we felt like we may not be allowed here. There was a group of college students who were discussing or working on something. Then, there was another couple who were reading the books there. We sat there at first, and waited for someone to come and send us out or to provide us some menu so that we can atleast have our coffees and slip out of there. Nobody came to us, so we decided to go and ask. I went to one person who had provided coffee to the couple, asked him for the menu. He simply said, “we have coffee, tea and brownies. That's it”. When I asked about their cost, he send me to another person. I asked him the same. He said, whatever you feel like, you can pay, we don't charge anything. I was awestruck.. Dint believe him at first. I asked him if there is some membership or something so that only members are allowed inside. He said no, to my surprise. I then curiously asked for what is this all about. Who owned this cafe and running this for free? He then explained me that the owner Mr. Ajay Jain is a traveller, a photographer and a writer. He displays his work in here , so that people can come and see his work , sipping coffees, relaxing.. There were copies of his books that one can read there, or can buy them if they want to. There were pictures all around which he had clicked himself. Also I found 3-4 scrapbooks where visitors at cafe had happily expressed their reviews and feelings. I read some of them, they felt just like me, happy and satisfied being there.

I was too much impressed. I sat back there, realizing how some people just do wonders and create things like this . I had sensed a feeling of calmness, relaxation, satisfaction , happiness and what not. I realized that I can come here anytime I feel like being with myself. Yes, it was a place where you can sit for hours alone, reading, or doing your own things. It makes you feel detached from the world out there, as if you are on a peaceful hill station on a vacation. It will give you immense peace and a new zeal for doing what you love. Its that kind of place where you will automatically discover your thing and you will surely make an effort for pursuing that. I felt like I was bound to be here, and being there just after starting my blog, I felt like I am so on the right path. A new freshness and enthusiasm ran through my blood and I was just so happy that I fell into that place, by chance. A place called Travel Cafe. :)

The Prologue from the book, The Alchemist!

The Alchemist picked up a book that someone in the caravan had brought. Leafing through the pages, he found a story about Narcissus. The alchemist knew the legend of Narcissus, youth who daily knelt beside a lake to contemplate his own beauty. He was so fascinated by himself that, one morning, he fell into the lake and drowned. At the spot where he fell, a flower was born, which was called the narcissus. But this was not how the author of the book ended the story.

He said that when Narcissus died, the Goddesses of the Forest appeared and found the lake, which had been fresh water, transformed into a lake of salty tears.

"Why do you weep?" the Goddesses asked.
"I weep for Narcissus," the lake replied.
"Ah, it is no surprise that you weep for Narcissus," they said, "for though we always pursued him in the forest, you alone could contemplate his beauty close at hand."
"But..... was Narcissus beautiful?" the lake asked. "Who better than you to know that?" the Goddesses said in wonder, "After all, it was by your banks that he knelt each
day to contemplate himself!!"

The lake was silent for some time. Finally it said:
"I weep for Narcissus, but I never noticed that Narcissus was beautiful. I weep because, each time he knelt beside my banks, I could see, in the depths of his eyes, my own beauty reflected."

"What a lovely story," the alchemist thought.

P.S. I read this today in someone's blog, such a beautiful story it was  that I couldn't resist myself from posting the same. #Copied #TouchedMyHeart

The magic of Dance

Shadi wala dance to sabne hi kia hoga.. But, have you ever tried dancing in the rain? Or in the washroom before the mirror? Ever danced like madness at its peak? My list is all so long, so let me just bubble them up..

-> Dancing on old hindi slow songs, especially Bachchan Sir's "Chumma Chumma " , standing on your bed? or ever shook it like Shammi?

-> Waking up on your birthday, and celebrating it while dancing for another successful and happy year passed and a hope for much more successful and happier year?

-> In a closed empty room, pouring all your heart out to dance..

-> In a dance class with all the awesome dancers, trying to match your feet with them?

-> With a girl or a boy, the close dance??

-> In front of hundreds of people, not giving it a damn what will they think about you?

-> On Stage, trying to get some praise or in a mall, all random??

->  In your office, all of a sudden while working, celebrating big moments?

-> How can I skip asking talli wala dance? Most of the people only dance when they are high enough?

-> On a beach, or in the snow, while on your vacation?

The list will be endless for those who love to dance. I mentioned just a few of them that clicked me right now. Dance is my soul. It is indeed..my everything. I am not a great dancer. To my bad luck, am not trained in any single dance form, which I will do one day, for sure.

Dance is so close to me, that a good dance performance on TV  just makes my day. If I had been trained in early years of my life, I would have choosen dance as my profession . But for a life full of books, I missed it. But never to loose heart, if not a profession, its my favourite hobby. It sets me free, it gives me pleasure. I dance to express myself, to calm down my anger, to sway away my stress , to celebrate happiness, to celebrate life.
Every time I dance, I turn into a better version of me. Trust me, I have tried all of the above list, except for dancing in a mall and in the snow. Needless to say, will do that one day.

I am still wondering why I am writing this, and you will be wondering why are you reading this ?? I seriously don't have any answer, I just love dancing and felt like expressing my emotions for dance. If you feel like you have wasted your time, you can try two-three things from the list that may cheer you up. You need not be a dancer, you need not love dancing,  just close your eyes, breathe and Dance :)

Controversy!!! Hype!! Views!! Result??

Before posting this, I had thought  so many times. I even wanted to have someone proofread it before I make it public, but then, its my opinion, its my choice. I know I am not wrong..

So, I was working in my office and a colleague (male) of mine was sharing a post on FB which was a perfect answer (according to him) to the much controversial video of women empowerment by VOGUE featuring  Deepika Padukon. First of all, Hats off to deepkia's bold performance. She has always been my favourite. Other than that, the controversy it created is quite huge.  When I watched it, I was of neutral opinion, I had not taken seriously everything that she said. I was like, okay, its our own choice whatever we want to do to aur lives, we can do. Its "My Choice". Even I asked my colleague what was wrong in that which I quite realized after I read his post. The message that was ought to empower women was rather communicated in a wrong direction. There was a point in the video that its a woman's choice to have sex outside marriage or not. Now the controversy is, if a woman can make this choice , men should also have this choice . And if all this is taken as righteous, then it questions our whole concept of marriage. If a marriage doesn't work because of some reason and the two people involved mutually agree on starting a new life with other partners, then its a different thing. But the message in video , in one way or other, supports adultery. Be it in India or in any part of the world, cheating should never be a choice. Neither it empowers women solely by arguing that even men do that . If we start going in this direction, then one day, we will also support that women can rape because men do so. I am not saying that men are the culprits in every crime, I am only trying to make a point here that we are not supposed to support wrong deeds in the name of women empowerment.

We, the women who need empowerment in this male dominant society today, are happily sharing the video , stating.. "Its my choice", "Must watch", "Must share".. Are we totally blind that we could not see the controversial part?? May be YES.. or may be NO because of the way we perceived it. When she said "Sex outside marriage", most of us have not even noticed this because we were more enrolled in the idea behind the video, that it should be my choice, not the "sex outside marriage" part, but the other decisions of life that we need to take. And we should not be judged for every decision we take, every choice we make.  Such emotional fools we are, got caught up in this controversy without even wanting to support it. That's all right, its not like we are now supporting it. (Some of us might do that, but that's just another example of double standards of our society).

The video said what it said. It might be a business strategy of VOGUE, or whatever it might be. The thing is we are not kids anymore that one video will teach us what we ought to do and what not. What's right and what's wrong, we can evaluate ourselves and can choose aur own path. Empowering women doesn't mean we can bring down men, or take away men's freedom. Its all about giving women equal status, equal rights and equal freedom .

I believe , all the efforts that people are making in this direction, will not go in vain . We will live this dream one day . Aameen!

What next?

For an entirely new blogger like me, who just wants to write but don't know what to write, it's immensely frustrating to have started a blog and then sitting back and wondering, what next???
Because of this fear, that I won't be able to give it ample time, and more importantly, what will I write about, I never did anything to take my wish to a new level.. Bt you know, sometimes, amidst all odds, you just get a ray of hope which is all together sufficient to enlighten you.. That's what happened with me or worked for me that I instantly created my blog without much thinking.. But the moment I finished my first one, I was stuck with the dear question again, what next??

Lots of issues inspired me on which I seldom write about (in my head only).. Ideas were there to continue my blog but with all randomness.. I like randomness but not at the cost of illogical irrelevant blogs without a purpose.. I think, there must be an inspiration.. for me and for the readers.. So why not let me start with this very question, What Next?
I knew my problems and after a lot of soul searching and deep introspection, I made a start. But I also knew, I am not alone in this race. Lots of people like me dream about so many things that they want to do in their lives, apart from what they are already doing. There is a secret wish, a buried desire.. But the fear of “Will it be continued?”, “Will it go somewhere?”, “Will it lead me somewhere?”, is the real problem that keeps them from even making  a move. So here is the funda.. Just start it.. Atleast give it a try.. Maybe, it will fail, Maybe, you will fail.. Maybe, it will waste your time or you might loose interest in that, or sometthing else might fill the void.. But just think, will that all go in vain?? No.. For one thing, u will be happy and you should be happy for you made a start.. You did something entirely for you..you tried to accomplish a long lost desire..and who knows, you might do marvels in that.. You might find out your ultimate purpose of life. You might find something else that u want to do or always wanted to do.. Now, you can make a move for that also.. Most of it, you won't have any regrets in your life.. And that my friend, is one thing for which wasting a lil time won't ever be a regret.. So..just start!!!! Because its never too late. Cheers!!

Do it now, because sometimes, LATER becomes NEVER

P.S. For the readers, I don't want nice article type comments. Reason being , I want you to share your wish for which you are going to make a move, or are already doing something for that, please share your story so that others can be motivated. For those, who din't get the answer while reading, just introspect. Think of some random hobbies and try that. Do not stop until you find out your passion. Passion is what keeps us all alive. And, alive is awesome :D

My very First..

On the onset of this year, I was very sure that I will not make resolutions this year. For resolutions are meant to be broken or forgotten or just the new year's craze that ends with the dawn.. But unconsciously, I was dreaming, dreaming of chasing my dreams, chasing myself. I made a whole long list in my mind , which ultimately falls in the 'Resolution_list_2015'. Funny though, I might end up forgetting and being at the same place next year as I am today, but there is a hunger that is keeping me awake .. Gladly, I made a start. Say it for all the signs I received , or my own unconscious chase, here I am writing my first blog. At first, I was so damn clueless, from where to start and where will it end. Will it end being the lonesome article that no one might even bother to read ?? But wait, am I doing this for others? No, this is for me , for those so many random thoughts of my mind. For dreams are never achieved in a single night, I am sure, if not a success, this will for sure keep me alive. And most importantly, the content smile and happy face while writing my first one, undoubtedly, this will keep me going. With lots of hope and cheer for a new journey, signing off  to come back with the better :)
